A Musical Taste of Our Canadian Heritage Shines at Tenth Anniversary

June 7, 2010 - Ottawa Ontario. If Canada were a show, this would be it! A Musical Taste of our Canadian Heritage is a fast paced, 90-minute, live bilingual production of the history of music in Canada. Built on only a $9,900 Millennium grant and a dream, this unique and critically acclaimed showcase of Canadian music and culture has just celebrated its tenth consecutive year of performing for students, tourists and the general public.

This year A Musical Taste of our Canadian Heritage marked its tenth anniversary by presenting four SOLD OUT shows in the theatre at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, Quebec. The engaging show once again combined education and entertainment seamlessly and was very well-received by both the student audiences and the general public.

After the final show, Odyssey Showcase hosted a reception for guests to celebrate ten years of success and to thank their major sponsor, TD Music, for their continued support since the show’s first year. Tom Gussman, Max Keeping, Cathy Jowsey, Jim Watson and Peter Beaudoin helped celebrate the occasion with a few congratulatory words at the reception. Cathy Jowsey announced a renewed funding commitment from TD Music to enable the show to continue in 2011. Deborah Davis presented “Saddle Shoe Awards” to express her profound appreciation to major individual supporters for their undying support and dedication to the show over the past ten years.
